Meet Maddie Skidmore, Therapist in Maple Ridge
I believe that healing doesn’t happen in isolation—it happens in connection, when you feel seen and understood. I am passionate about supporting people in finding their purpose and strengthening their sense of self.
I take a warm, collaborative approach to therapy, creating a space where you can explore challenges, celebrate wins, and develop strategies that fit your life. I see each person’s story as unique, and I strive to meet you with empathy, respect, and understanding.
I approach therapy through a systems lens, recognizing that we are shaped by the communities, relationships, and structures around us. I’m committed to social justice and anti-oppressive practice, and I believe that we thrive when our communities thrive.
As a straight-passing, cisgender, able-bodied, white woman, I’m aware of the privileges I hold and approach therapy with humility and an openness to learn. I aim to create an inclusive space that respects diverse identities and experiences.
Founder and Registered Social Worker (MSW, RSW)
My Approach
I use a trauma-informed, integrative approach, adapting my approach to fit your needs and unique experiences. My approach is informed by my education and additional training. I graduated from University of Toronto with a Master’s of Social Work specializing in Health and Mental Health, and I hold a post-graduate degree in Addictions and Mental Health from Humber College.
I take an integrative, relational, and psychodynamic approach to therapy, blending insights from Relational Life Therapy with parts-informed work inspired by Internal Family Systems (IFS). Additionally, I draw on practical Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills and am trained in EMDR to support deeper healing and reprocessing.
